The Poster to Poster series is a nine-volume definitive collection of British railway posters which showcases many of the railway posters from the National Railway Museum at York and other museums and galleries. Each volume is a mixture of travel documentary, geographical and historical study, graphic artists' reference and poster database - all interlinked using the central theme of railway posters

Volume 6 begins in the Lake District, a popular target for advertising. Travelling south we enter the ‘Red Rose’ county and the industrial centres of Liverpool and Manchester. Then it is into North Wales, before we take the ferry from Holyhead to tour Northern Ireland. This country also has a strong poster heritage. The final leg sees us cross eastwards to end the journey on the Isle of Man. The Foreword is by Michael Palin

'A marvellous series, and lovingly compiled books.' Michael Palin.

This is a great book brilliantly illustrated. This book gets the balance just right with text and pictures. I can thoroughly recommend it to everybody interested in the subject.’ Mike Brennand

‘These are the definitive volumes on British railway posters. Wonderful works of art. I cannot wait until the next volume is published.’ Steven M. Swirsky
